IRMO is pleased to have been invited to contribute to the Bell Foundation Conference on the 26th June 2026: Visible and Heard – Ensuring EAL and ESOL learners are recognised and effectively supported in education, taking place at the University of Birmingham. This marks the Bell Foundation’s first ever conference.
As part of the programme, IRMO will be delivering a session on navigating school access and barriers to education for late arrivals. Drawing on our frontline work with migrant families seeking school places and our access to education campaign, the session will explore the challenges many late-arriving children face when trying to access education in England, as well as the practical and systemic barriers that can delay or prevent access.
We are grateful to the Bell Foundation for this opportunity and look forward to connecting with partners, practitioners and community members at the conference.
