Latin American Youth Forum

The Latin American Youth Forum, our youth-led community group, provides a welcoming space for newly arrived Latin American migrants aged 13-19 to grow socially, emotionally and professionally.

Through a varied, optional programme of workshops, English classes, mentoring and cultural trips, young people can develop new skills, make friends and improve their employability and sense of self worth as a community.

English Classes

Young people can take part in fun English classes designed to help them build their language skills, make connections and open doors to new opportunities in the UK.

Creative Workshops

They can also take part in creative workshops that provide an opportunity to explore new talents and develop employability skills, while also providing a safe space to discuss relevant issues, take action and drive social change together.

Mentoring and Tailored Support

LAYF also includes access to a mentoring programme that offers individualised support for young people, helping them access education, work opportunities and develop both personally and academically.

LAYF Youth Steering Group

Young people’s voices shape all aspects of our work. Joining the Steering Group gives members the opportunity to take an active leadership role, including planning, delivering and evaluating group activities.

Being part of the Latin American Youth Forum taught me responsibility and gave me the confidence to interact with young people from different backgrounds. At IRMO, I made friends for life.
