Volunteer Scheme
IRMO relies on a team of more than 50 volunteers at any given time. Their time, skills and enthusiasm make it possible to run the services and projects our community depends on.
During my time volunteering at IRMO, I found the experience to be incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable. Working alongside fellow volunteers and staff members provided me with a sense of camaraderie and purpose. I was able to contribute to various initiatives that aligned with my interests and skills, which made the experience even more rewarding (...) I enjoyed every single moment teaching at IRMO. I was already in paid employment, but IRMO still supported me with my teacher training. I can’t thank you enough for that IRMO.
As well as being the backbone of our organisation, the volunteer scheme was set up to provide valuable work experience for volunteers to step into London’s competitive job market, offering an inspiring multicultural environment to develop new skills and connections.
The scheme provides the opportunity to work in a wide range of teams and roles, for example with youth work, fundraising, assisting advisers, teaching English, translating and interpreting, and welcome area support.
