This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children & Young People area at IRMO and be part of the Family Project. The Family Project supports Spanish and Portuguese-speaking children and young people who have recently arrived in the UK and need to enter compulsory education as soon as possible.

The Family Support Worker will offer targeted advice and support in Spanish/Portuguese to families and young people facing barriers in accessing education and other statutory services such as SEND support and Early Help.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and strengthen IRMO’s Volunteer Scheme as part of our Education, Training and Employment (ETE) programme. Volunteers play a vital role in achieving IRMO’s mission, and this position is central to ensuring that our volunteer initiatives both empower community members through meaningful work experience and enhance IRMO’s capacity to deliver impactful services to the community.

The Volunteer Scheme Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of volunteering at IRMO — from recruitment and training to ongoing support and development. They will champion volunteering internally and externally while fostering opportunities for volunteers to learn, grow and make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Working closely with the ETE Programme Manager, the post will also be expected to develop partnerships and volunteering roles that support IRMO’s vision, values and strategic objectives.

Teacher working with Spanish and Portuguese-speaking children and young people who
have recently arrived in the country, speak little English and whose families are often still
navigating the school admissions processes to enable them to access compulsory education
in the UK.

The Community Support team acts as the main point of contact for the Latin American​ community and IRMO, where we identify their needs and enquiries, triage the support and​ services to be allocated and share relevant information. The Welcome Area plays a key role​ in the daily operations of the organisation; offering a range of support services, which​ include interpreting, referrals and signposting, broadcast of information and events,​ amongst others.

The Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) SPACE Workshop Assistant will be supporting our Youth Project Coordinator with contributing ideas for workshops and preparing sessions, promoting opportunities for young people in the workshops, creating/sharing useful resources and supporting with monitoring and evaluation. The ideal LAYF Workshop an assistant is someone who is fluent in Spanish & English or Portuguese & English; has some experience in working with children and young people, and has an idea of the challenges faced by migrant, refugee & asylum-seeking young people in the UK.

The Youth Media & Campaigns Volunteer will work closely with the Youth Project Coordinator to strengthen the voice and visibility of the Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) SPACE. This role goes beyond publicity; it’s about helping to grow our online presence, experimenting with creative ideas, and bringing a modern, dynamic touch to the way we connect with people and partners.
